Plans to convert a dilapidated former nursery in Felling into a series of new flats are set to be approved by Gateshead councillors next week. It is hoped the proposals will bring the building back into use.
Plans to convert Holly House, on Holly Hill, a former nursery and 1920s labour exchange, into nine apartments have been recommended for approval by local authority officers. The new layout would see four one-bedroom flats, four two-bedroom flats, and one three-bed apartment.
According to the council’s report, the building is currently in a poor state of repair, due to “waster ingress with instances of anti-social behaviour and vandalism”. Further reports state the vandalism has resulted in
