A Tree of Hope grown from the seed of Sycamore Gap has been planted in memory of murdered teenager Holly Newton. The 15-year-old was stabbed to death in Hexham, Northumberland , nearly three years ago.

Following her death, Holly's parents Micala and Lee Trussler set up an organisation called Holly's Hope. Hexham Abbey applied to the National Trust for a Tree of Hope on their behalf and were successful.

It was planted at St Andrews Cemetery in Hexham on Wednesday - the same day Holly would have turned 18 years old. Here is everything you need to know about the Holly Newton murder case:
