OPP have identified a vehicle of interest in a hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a Kitchener tow-truck operator on Highway 401 near Cedar Creek Road in North Dumfries.
Oxford Ontario Provincial Police said on Wednesday, at about 7:18 a.m., a 42-year-old man, operating a tow truck, was hit by an unknown vehicle while assisting a motorist in the westbound lanes of the highway, west of Oxford Road 3 in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim.
The tow-truck operator was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed the westbound lanes of Hwy. 401, between Cedar Creek and Oxford roads, for more than four hours to investigate the incident. All lanes have since reopened.
