Car owners across the region were reminded the hard way not to park on the road during a snow event.
After Waterloo Region was covered in more than 30 centimetres of snow in less that 24 hours on Nov. 27, all three local municipalities declared a snow event and prohibited parking on roadways.
Some drivers in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge did not heed the warnings and more than 3,200 tickets were handed out from Nov. 27 to Dec. 1.
Cambridge city Coun. Nicholas Ermeta posted on social media and said city bylaw issued 693 parking violations with 681 being a violation of the snow event bylaw.
