A 64-year-old woman charged in the killing of a Birmingham man told police she “snapped” when the victim broke up with her after they met to have sex in a park, according to a detective’s testimony.
Bonita Brown is charged with murder in the Nov. 23 shooting death of Thomas Williams, a 64-year-old U.S. Army veteran who was found dead that Sunday outside of his car on a dead-end Birmingham street.
A passerby found Williams about 2 p.m. that Sunday in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue.
West Precinct officers dispatched to a report of a person down arrived to find the victim unresponsive in the road. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene.
Investigators later learned the shooting happened after 12:30 p.m.
