After a disappointing outcome in Tuesday’s 5-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators, head coach Martin St. Louis has decided to shake up his lineup.
Montreal Canadiens centre Jared Davidson will be replacing left winger Florian Xhekaj in the lineup against the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday, the team announced.
Xhekaj, the younger brother of Habs defenceman Arber Xhekaj, logged just 7:43 of ice time in the loss to the Senators before being benched by St. Louis after a few tough sequences in his zone.
Davidson last appeared in Montreal’s 4-3 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Nov. 26. Through five games this season, the 23-year-old has yet to put up a point.
The Canadiens have struggled since the start of November, putting up a record of 5-6-3. They sit fifth in the Atlantic Division with 29 points.
