It’s going to look a lot like a winter wonderland in Edmonton soon, with a weather system blowing through Alberta set to bring plenty of snow for some parts of the province.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), snowfall warnings are in effect for portions of northwestern Alberta, with a “long period” of snowfall expected.
Meteorologists say an amount of 15 to 20 cm is expected, and snowfall will begin near midnight tonight and continue through Friday.
Upwards of 20 cm is also not being ruled out by Friday evening for some areas, and the heaviest snow will fall over the Swan Hills during the day on Thursday.
“Travel will likely be challenging, and visibility will likely be reduced at times. Allow extra time for travel,” the warnings added.
