MADISON (WKOW) -- In a 911 communications center, every second counts. But, critical seconds can be lost when non-emergency calls fill the lines.
That's why Dane County said it's in the process of implementing the AI platform Aurelian to answer non-emergency calls. 27 News is the first to sit down with the Dane County Communications Center about what this tool will look like.
"An AI call-taking solution for the non-emergency calls helps us to free up communicators for those essential 911 calls," said Johnny Leonard, Deputy Director for Dane County Public Safety.
