FRANKLIN, Ind. — A Terre Haute man was convicted Wednesday of child solicitation by a Johnson County jury.

Mark Reyher, 48, was found guilty of felony child solicitation on Dec. 2 after just one hour of jury deliberation. While reading the verdict, prosecutors requested Reyher be taken into custody and held at the Johnson County Jail, but the judge reportedly declined and released him "on his promise" to appear for sentencing.

Police say Reyher was arrested on Nov. 29, 2023 following a multi-agency child solicitation sting conducted in Johnson County. Members of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Franklin City Police Department, Edinburgh Police Department, and U.S. Secret Service acted undercover during a three-day period that resulted in 21 total arrests.
