TEMPE, Ariz. — New details emerged Wednesday in the deadly shooting at Tempe Marketplace that left a 19-year-old dead. Police announced they arrested a suspect on Tuesday, but prosecutors said they may still be looking for more suspects.
Fernando Gallegos made his initial appearance before a judge Tuesday morning. He was arrested on charges of murder, conspiracy and armed robbery in the death of Dominic Baysinger.
In initial appearances, judges review a probable cause statement that outlines why a suspect should be charged and why they should remain in jail. Prosecutors asked the judge to seal that document, and the judge agreed.
Gallegos's attorney then spent a long time going through the details in that document, trying to poke holes in the prosecutor's case against his client.
