BOISE, Idaho — A Caldwell man is facing felony drug charges after police said he was found possessing nearly 28 pounds of meth and fentanyl.
The Boise Police Department on Wednesday said its officers stopped 55-year-old Adrian Velasco for a "red-light violation." During the traffic stop, police reportedly observed "indicators of possible illegal drug activity."
Boise Police said its drug K9 alerted officers that the vehicle had drugs. Officers searched the vehicle and found more than 116 grams of methamphetamine.
Velasco was booked into the Ada County Jail on two felony drug trafficking charges on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
After further investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for a Boise hotel room connected to the case. Police said officers found approximately 12,785 grams of meth
