Former Harrisburg High School star Donte Kent had his 21-day window opened by the Pittsburgh Steelers to return from injured reserve on Wednesday.
Kent suffered a lower leg injury during training camp and had been rehabbing since. If he is not activated by the end of his 21-day window, Kent would be out for the season.
Kent told PennLive before the regular season that he felt he was nearing 100 percent, but the seventh-round selection missed nearly a month with a foot/ankle injury that left him in a walking boot for over a week.
Kent ran a 4.38 40-yard dash at Central Michigan’s pro day. In his five-year career with the Chippewas, Kent was a three-time All-MAC selection, playing as a cornerback, gunner, kick and punt returner, and special teams ace.
