CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Lakefront Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks is about to get a little bit bigger, with the addition of the North Coast Inner Harbor marina next to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame downtown.

The Metroparks envisions attracting more year-round dock rentals to what largely has been “transient” use for short-term stays at the 50-plus slips.

As to whether the Metroparks will rent kayaks, paddle boats and jet skis for day use has been done in the past, that’s to be determined, Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman said Wednesday.

Cleveland City Council on Monday approved amending the Metroparks’ lakefront lease to include the marina. Zimmerman said he expected the legal paperwork completing the transaction to be wrapped up by the end of the year.
