Fresh off his home run derby victory in Venezuela, Boston Red Sox right fielder and two-time Gold Glover Wilyer Abreu appeared as a guest on MLN Network on Wednesday night to discuss his outlook for the 2026 Red Sox season and how he feels about the team acquiring Sonny Gray .
Abreu stressed that he’s focused on staying healthy and building his body up for the season. By the looks of the derby , his swing is doing just fine.
“I’m trying to stay ready, stay healthy for the next year, and I’m confident with my body right now because I feel pretty good,” Abreu said. “Hopefully, this next year is gonna be a big one for me.”
Wilyer also indicated that he was pleased with the Gray signing.
