W. R. (William) Felker was known as a highly esteemed banker, railroad builder and civil leader in Rogers. He played a major role in not only building the city, but also our county. Born in 1855 in Barry County, Mo., in 1874 he became a store clerk in Washburn, Mo., and soon purchased half interest in the business. In 1881 he sold out his share of the business and began to loan money and speculate on various merchandise.
