PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Dozens of trucking schools in Arizona are at risk of losing their federal certification as part of a nationwide crackdown by the Trump administration aimed at improving commercial driver training and reducing highway dangers .

Federal regulators say nearly 3,000 commercial driving providers across the country are not complying with training standards. Of those, 42 are in Arizona, putting their ability to operate in jeopardy.

Steve Gold, owner of 160 Driving Academy , said his company is the largest commercial truck driving school in the nation. The school operates in more than 40 states and trains more than 22,000 drivers a year, including at two locations in Arizona.
