A girl was rescued from a car following a serious crash in south Manchester on Wednesday afternoon (December 3). Police, paramedics and fire crews raced to the smash on Longstone Road in Wythenshawe .

The road was cordoned off amid the emergency response, close to the Flying Horse pub. It was later confirmed the crash involved three vehicles.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collisions Unit are investigating the crash, which is thought to have left a girl injured. Enquiries remain ongoing.

The road remained closed for over an hour, as pictures showed fire crews working at the scene after the part of the vehicle was removed to rescue her from inside one of the cars involved. She was rushed to hospital from the scene.
