KINGSLEY — The Grand Traverse County Health Department announced today that it’ll be closing down the K-town Youth Health Center in Kingsley later this month.

A new in-school mental health program is set to take its place.

After 15 years of service to the community, the health department says other providers have stepped in to help fulfill the original mission of the K-town facility, which was comprehensive and specialized pediatric care.

“Previously, we’ve had a school-age clinic, which we call K-town, in the downtown Kingsley area,” said Mike Lahey, medical officer with the Grand Traverse County Health Department. We’ve been there since 2010 and done a lot of great work there.”
