Everything you need to know after Matthew Perry's doctor jailed after supplying him with ketamine

Dr Salvador Plasencia, 44, received a sentence of two and a half years in federal prison for supplying ketamine to Matthew Perry before the actor’s fatal overdose. In addition to the prison term, US District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett ordered two years of supervised release.

Plasencia is the first of five defendants charged in connection with the circumstances surrounding Perry’s 2023 death. He pleaded guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine. Although he faced a maximum possible sentence of 40 years, his plea agreement did not include any guaranteed sentence length, leaving the decision fully to the court.
