LITTLETON, Mass. —

A woman was severely injured after being struck by a delivery driver on Wednesday night, according to police.

The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of King and Goldsmith Streets.

Littleton police say a 79-year-old Acton woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a sedan.

She sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the sedan, who was delivering food, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to authorities.

It's unclear if the driver will face any charges at this time.

Police say the victim was in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The incident remains under investigation, and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
