SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — Virginia State Police said on Wednesday that one of the people involved in a three-vehicle crash on I-95 southbound in Spotsylvania County has succumbed to her injuries.
The crash occurred on Tuesday around 8:30 a.m. at the 120-mile marker in Spotsylvania County when a Nissan Pathfinder traveling southbound hydroplaned and drifted off the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail, and then spun into a Toyota Highlander.
The Highlander was then hit by a tractor-trailer.
A passenger in the Highlander, 64-year-old Andrea Vernot, suffered serious injuries, which she succumbed to on Wednesday at a local hospital.
Another passenger in the Highlander, 61-year-old Mark Vernot, also suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Highlander, Matthew Vernot, 31, was not inju
