NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — An inmate who escaped from Grady Hospital early Monday morning and led officers on a two-day manhunt is back in custody after a Newton County homeowner unknowingly spoke to him through her doorbell camera in the middle of the night.

Timothy Shane, who was an inmate at the Rockdale County jail, had been taken to Grady on Sunday night after deputies say he attempted to take his own life.
