LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Local residents have expressed divided opinions on social media about President Donald Trump’s decision to pardon U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar and his wife Imelda, clearing them of bribery and conspiracy charges that had been pending for more than a year.

The pardon comes two years after the FBI launched an investigation and one year since the indictment of the congressman and his wife on bribery, conspiracy and money laundering charges.

Residents have been sounding off on KGNS social media pages with their thoughts on the pardon of Cuellar, who represents Texas District 28, which includes Webb and Zapata counties.
