CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Public Schools as reached a settlement in a lawsuit involving a former CPS high school dean was sentenced to prison for having a sexual relationship with a student, officials said Wednesday.

Brian Crowder was convicted of committing sex abuse and assault while he was the dean of Little Village Lawndale High School.

Crowder was sentenced to 22 years in prison in August.

Officials confirmed Wednesday a $17.5 million settlement was reached in a lawsuit filed for the former student who was the victim of the sex abuse.
