BENSONHURST, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A candlelight vigil was held in Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon to honor the victims of the Hong Kong fire that killed at least 159 people last week.
The event at Seth Low Park in Bensonhurst was to show solidarity with those impacted by the fire, which tore through seven high-rise apartment buildings.
There are about 30 people still missing after the fire.
Six people have been arrested on suspicion of deactivating fire alarms during renovation work at the housing complex. Another 15 people were arrested amid a probe into negligence and corruption, related to that work.
Attendees included Council Member Susan Zhuang, Assembly Member William Colton, State Senator Sam Sutton, and other community leaders.
