A woman who found her daughter dead in her cot at 16-months-old after showing very few symptoms is urging parents to trust their mothers instinct. Lisa Fifield, who was born in Liverpool and now lives between Essex and Spain, gave birth to her first child, Ophelia Lily Ada Fifield, with her husband, Erol, 46, on October 5 2023.

Lisa, 36, who works as a make up artist , described her daughter as an "old soul" who was very happy, loved people and was obsessed with food, especially bananas.

Lisa said: "She was really peaceful, like an old soul type of baby. Some babies can be quite funny with strangers, she wasn't like that. She really trusted people. She loved laughing, was always giggling and she very rarely cried.
