Venmo is facing a service outage which means customers are currently unable to send or receive money. Customers are claiming that there has been issues for 'hours' as the payment service states they are working to fix the problem.

A statement posted on X read: "We're aware that some users are experiencing issues with Venmo right now. Our team is working on a fix, and we'll update you as soon as it's resolved. Thanks for your patience."

The app is used to send and receive money to other users. There has been a spike in reports of problems in Downdetector since Wednesday (December 3) evening.
