Work is now taking place at Nouncells Cross in Stroud.

A housing block in Gloucestershire is to benefit from a major refurbishment project, improving dozens of flats.

Stroud District Council has started a £1.8m investment to improve its largest housing block, Nouncells Cross in Stroud .

The project will upgrade 57 flats across two blocks at Nouncells Cross, and 14 properties on the town's Bisley Old Road.

Work began in September and is expected to take up to 12 months to complete.

Residents will see a range of improvements, including: new roofs at Nouncells Cross; replacement windows, extractor fans and door entry systems; better lighting and safer steps; new flooring and resurfaced footpaths and car park; CCTV installation; new fencing for the community garden; redecorated stairwel
