Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind the Tamil films Good Bad Ugly and Dude , have reached a settlement with renowned composer Ilaiyaraaja following a copyright dispute over the use of his unauthorised use of his songs in their releases. The compromise was formalised after the producers agreed to pay Rs 50 lakh to Ilaiyaraaja in recognition of the songs used without prior consent, bringing an end to the legal conflict.

A joint memo filed before Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy on December 3, indicated that the Hyderabad-based production company had transferred Rs 50 lakh to Ilaiyaraaja via Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) after deducting 10 per cent for Tax Deducted at Source (TDS).
