Almost a hundred cyclists have been injured on Warwickshire’s roads over the last year - more than one every four days - according to new figures.

Data from Warwickshire Police shows that 99 cyclists were injured in the 2024/2025 financial year. Of these, two cyclists sadly died while 26 were seriously injured. A total of 70 cyclists suffered slight injuries.

The data was obtained by who claimed many crashes ‘could be prevented’.

Cycling is growing in popularity for commuting, health and leisure. Nationwide, 87 cyclists were killed on the roads in 2023 while 4,000 were seriously injured.

Between 2019 and 2023 an average of two cyclists died and 80 were seriously injured every week in the UK.
