A 25-year-old Pakistani-born former University of Delaware student, Luqmaan Khan, has been arrested after police uncovered what they believe was a plan for a mass shooting on campus. The arrest took place just before midnight on 24 November, when New Castle County officers noticed Khan behaving suspiciously while sitting in his pickup truck in a closed Wilmington park. Their decision to investigate further led to a major discovery that authorities say may have prevented a catastrophic attack.

The arrest comes days after an Afghanistan-origin man, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, was arrested for shooting two US National Guards near the White House.
