A 19-year-old grabbed attention online for his perfect recitation of mantras from the Shukla Yajurveda Shakha. Mahesh Rekhe recited almost 2,000 mantras of the Shukla Yajurveda’s Madhyandina Shakha daily, without interruption, for 50 days. The recitation was the toughest ritual of Dandakrama Parayanam. The young man’s feat even garnered praise from the central government’s Ministry of Culture, which shared the video of Rekhe’s recitation on Instagram.

“His extraordinary feat, last achieved some 200 years ago, marks a historic moment in India’s centuries-old Vedic traditions and his deep dedication to preserving our ancient spiritual heritage," the ministry wrote in the caption.
