A Bengaluru-based Reddit user has claimed that he and his flatmate were fined ₹5,000 by their residential society for allowing “girls (to stay) overnight” at their flat. Sharing a screenshot of the invoice, the man questioned whether any legal remedy was available to challenge the society’s action.

According to his post, the housing society enforces a rule that bars bachelors from hosting overnight guests, while families face no such restrictions.
