Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has advised residents to avoid visiting the city's seashore on Thursday due to an anticipated high tide of 4.96 metres.
Tides exceeding 4 metres are forecasted to continue from December 4 through December 7.
According to the BMC, the Arabian Sea will reach its peak high tide of 4.96 metres at 11:52 pm on Thursday.
The civic body urged caution for visitors heading to Chaitya Bhoomi and Shivaji Park on December 6, marking Dr B R Ambedkar's death anniversary, especially near the seafront.
Every year, thousands gather at Chaitya Bhoomi in central Mumbai, the site where Ambedkar’s last rites were held in 1956.
