The West Garo Hills Police has issued an advisory announcing extensive traffic restrictions ahead of the Megong Festival 2025, scheduled to be held on December 5 and 6 at Bolbokgre–Watregre. The measures have been introduced in anticipation of heavy footfall and to ensure smooth movement around the festival venue.
According to the advisory, vehicular traffic in the Jengjal and Bolbokgre–Watreigre area will be strictly regulated, with designated parking zones to be used as per the event’s site map. Unauthorized parking in non-designated areas will invite penalties.
Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) and trucks will not be allowed to ply on NH-51 between Anogre and Tura from 8:00 pm on December 4 until 6:00 am on December 7.
