Seven years after former Andhra Pradesh minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy was murdered, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to begin the investigation into the incident all over again, sources said.

The CBI Special Court in Hyderabad on Tuesday reserved its order on a petition filed by Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, Sunitha, seeking further investigation into key unanswered aspects of the case, as the agency has yet to conclude the investigation.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed the trial court to determine whether additional investigation was necessary, following Sunitha’s contention that the CBI had prematurely declared its probe complete without addressing critical leads.
