The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has put up public notices asking street vendors not to sit on the Bhadra plaza premises and move to the alternative arrangements that have been made for them. The civic body has allocated space in Dhalgarwad and a parking lot near Pankornaka as part of the alternative arrangement to 844 accredited street vendors following the Gujarat High Court’s order.

A total of 844 vendors from two non-governmental organisations–Self Employed Workers Association (SEWA) and Self Employed Labour Organization (SELO)—were doing business in Bhadra premises for years. People who came to visit the temple in Bhadra premises faced problems even walking, and also faced traffic jams. AM
