DWP Child Benefit rates are to go up

Child Benefit and Guardian's Allowance payments are confirmed to increase starting in April 2026, following the Autumn Budget announcement

The annual increase for both benefits will be 3.8 per cent, aligning with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the year to September 2025.

The weekly Child Benefit rate for the eldest child will rise from £26.05 to £27.05.

The weekly rate for additional children will increase from £17.25 to £17.90.

The weekly Guardian's Allowance will also see an increase, rising from £22.10 to £22.95.

Working families are also being encouraged to sign up for Tax-Free Childcare, which saves up to £2,000 per year for each child up to age 11, or up to £4,000 for children with disabilities up to age 16
