CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — With millions of holiday packages landing on doorsteps this holiday season, law enforcement in the Lowcountry is urging residents to stay alert as porch pirates ramp up activity.
Mount Pleasant Police say package theft spikes every December ahead of the holiday season and can be especially devastating for families.
Sgt. Robert Blaschke says many thieves target neighborhoods where deliveries are left unattended. Officers say prevention is key, with patrols and community awareness being the best tools to keep packages safe.
