UPDATE: Around 11:45 p.m., Venmo announced on its Instagram page that the issue had been resolved.

Thousands of users reported issues with mobile payment app Venmo Wednesday night.

According to DownDetector.com, which monitors problems with sites and apps, more than 14,000 people reported issues with Venmo around 7:30 p.m.

Issues ranged from logging in to the app to being able to transfer money to other users.

Venmo, which has been owned by PayPal since 2013, not posted any acknowledgment of the issues on its social media pages as of 9:30 p.m., even as problems persisted with the app.

“We are aware that some users are experiencing issues Venmo right now. Our team is working on a fix, and we’ll update you as soon as it’s resolved. Thank you for your patience,” a message posted around
