Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav is under fire after he did not attend the joint session of both Houses of the state legislature. Several reports indicate that he has gone on a European trip, only weeks after the party’s poor performance in the assembly elections. His absence on Wednesday came just a day after he declared that he would play the role of a “constructive opposition".
The joint session, addressed by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, saw all major leaders present except the Leader of the Opposition. His absence quickly became a talking point inside the House. The ruling NDA leaders criticised him for skipping an important constitutional event.
