PALAKKAD: A human skull and bones were found wrapped in a plastic cover. The remains were found abandoned near a garbage dump in front of the Matha Kovil church in the city.

The body parts were first found by municipal workers who came to clean the area this morning. The skull and bones were found when they searched following a foul smell in the area for two days. The parts, including hair, were not completely decomposed. Senior police officials reached the spot and examined it. A forensic team will arrive and check for fingerprints. The body parts will be shifted to the mortuary. Scientific tests to determine the oldness of the body parts and DNA will be conducted soon.
