It’s not quite Christmas, but this week’s snow has created the perfect setting for Carnation City Players new show, “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.” The show’s premiere weekend is Dec. 5-7 and shows also will be happening Dec. 12-14.
Based on the beloved 1954 film, the musical is set in the post-World War II landscape of Vermont.
Two successful song-and-dance men – Bob Wallace and Phil Davis – follow a sister act to a charming Vermont inn, only to discover the struggling resort is owned by their former Army commander, Gen. Henry Waverly. With a genuine desire to help the general save his business, Bob and Phil, along with the Haynes sisters, Betty and Judy, devise a plan to stage a spectacular show that will bring in the tourists and remind everyone of the true meaning of Christmas.
