Mumbai: Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute has become the first healthcare facility in India—and only the fifth worldwide—to receive the Joint Commission International (JCI) Certificate of Distinction for its Healthcare Sustainability Program. The certification, awarded in partnership with the International Hospital Federation’s Geneva Sustainability Centre, places the Mumbai hospital among a select group meeting stringent global ESG standards.

The recognition comes as healthcare remains one of the top five carbon-emitting industries and global systems push to reduce climate-linked operational risks.
