Bangladesh former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, who is battling for life at a Dhaka hospital, will be flown to the UK on Friday for advanced treatment. Zia's son, Tarique Rahman resides in London. His wife, Zubaida Rahman, will reach Dhaka to take her to the UK in an air ambulance of the Qatari Royal Family.

Zia, the chief of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has been in the coronary care unit (CCU) of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka since November 27. The 80-year-old leader was admitted to the hospital on November 23 with infections in her lungs and heart.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir had on November 29 said that Khaleda Zia's health condition was "very critical" and urged people across the country to pray for her recovery.
