JAMMU, Dec 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has trapped and arrested Ganderab Singh, Patwari of Patwar Halqa Thalora in Majalta tehsil, and Kuldeep Kumar, a Chowkidar, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
As per an ACB official, a case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Section 61(2) of the BNS, 2023, was registered against both officials at ACB Police Station Udhampur.
According to him, the complainant approached the bureau after the Patwari allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 to correct his name in the revenue records.
A discreet verification confirmed the bribe demand, following which a formal FIR was registered and an investigation was launched, he said.
