More light snow possible Friday afternoon

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Cold conditions are expected across all of southern Wisconsin for today. Arctic high pressure continues to build in from the northwest. Today has been declared a First Alert Day due to the cold temperatures and wind chills.

This ridge will bring lots of sunshine through the day, but with northwesterly wind in the morning, temperatures will be bitterly cold. As skies cleared overnight and temperatures dropped to below zero in many locations. 5 to 10 mph wind generated wind chills of 10° below zero to 15° below zero early today.
