MONETT, Mo. (KY3) — A former Monett Police Department officer faces charges for allegedly distributing child pornography.

Scott Gaston is charged with possession of child pornography and promoting child pornography.

Investigators received a tip from Google that led to the charges. Investigators claim Google reported that dozens of files depicting child exploitation were uploaded to Google Photos. Investigators say all information on the Google account links to Gaston.

According to investigators, Gaston has 17 years of prior law enforcement experience and was recently fired from his job.

A judge denied bond for Gaston.
