Millions are abandoning their pursuit of driving licences due to soaring fuel expenses and insurance premiums, alongside persistent DVSA delays. Almost a quarter of 18 to 30 year olds across the UK remain without a driving licence and harbour no intention of acquiring one.

Research conducted by GoShorty revealed that 47 per cent of those lacking a licence cited lesson expenses as the primary barrier preventing them from learning. A further 13 per cent stated they couldn't manage the continuous expenditure on petrol, insurance and upkeep, even with a valid licence .
