DULUTH — The city's newly hired finance director, Juanita “Nina” Salinas, made quite a northerly move to begin work in Duluth on Monday.
Salinas most recently served as chief administrative officer for the city of San Antonio's 6th District, where she oversaw constituent services, zoning, public works, events and outreach. In that role, she also supported the district’s review of the city’s $4 billion annual budget and coordinated work across multiple city departments.
Salinas' previous work experience includes stints as chief operating officer and strategy consultant for UGO Strategies, with more than 35 years of service in leadership roles.
Salinas holds an MBA degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BBA in accounting from Texas A&M University.
